The Hotel Saint Paul has 5 floors served by elevator. The oak beams and stone walls are combined with “Haute-Epoque” furniture and an english decor to provide a welcoming atmosphere. The lobby is stylish in an unfussy way with beamed ceilings, a mixture of stone and colour-washed walls, good country antiques. Sputnik, the house cat, spends most of his time in the comfortable armchairs of the cosy lounge, close to the old piano. Facing the entrance, a courtyard garden is set behind a glass wall, carefully tended and full of colours year-around. In the little flowered patio, a piece of Philippe- Auguste’ s wall survives from many centuries … The cellar breakfast room, where a delicious buffet breakfast (not included in the rooms’ rates) is served, is a particularly elegant variation on the theme, with high-backed tapestry chairs and round wooden tables.
